Our client loves cooking and entertaining and her previous kitchen didn’t really allow for this. It was quite a small and compact kitchen with limited worktop space to prepare, cook and serve food on. She came to DBR Interiors looking to increase the space she had and make the kitchen a place she could host dinner parties in, entertain and feed her family and enjoy plenty of room for her hobby.
Our design solved the space problem and we think we exceeded her expectations with the finished result!
The existing kitchen included walls to form cupboards and a cloakroom so we removed these, which allowed us a blank canvas to start off with. Our client wanted a modern kitchen but one that was elegant and classy. We ensured all of the appliances were integrated and the handles on the doors and drawers were all hidden in order to create a streamlined and slick look. Under cabinet lighting was installed to highlight the amazing square edged worktops and to add more light to the room. To keep with the clean, bright theme of the rest of the kitchen the client opted for a very unique glass splash back and extractor fan which makes a great focal point in the middle of the kitchen.
We didn’t completely get rid of the cloakroom, this was still useful so we redesigned this to keep with the modern feel of the rest of the room. We even managed to squeeze in a utility area for our client! Another bespoke part of the kitchen was the open wine unit. This small feature looks great when entertaining. For casual dining we created a breakfast bar, which extended from the kitchen worktops. Some fantastic modern feature lighting also highlights the breakfast bar area.
